Independence Day also known as the fourth of July has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, commemorating the declaration of independence. On July 2, 1776, the congress voted in favor of the independence, which was drafted by Thomas Jefferson. From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades and concerts to barbeques and many social gatherings. It is a day to celebrate our freedom and to share with family and friends!

Jamie Shapiro, founder of Companion Services of America, LLC received a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago. Jamie started her career in psychiatric social work at Northwestern University Institute of Psychiatry. Later, she went on to become the Director of Social Services at Belmont Community Hospital where she developed discharge planning procedures to assist staff in identifying potential patients requiring intervention.
