JAMIE SHAPIRO

Managing Director & Founder

Jamie founded Companion Services of America in 2007, bringing with her a wealth of experience in social work and healthcare. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She began her career in psychiatric social work at the Northwestern University Institute of Psychiatry before transitioning to become the Director of Social Services at Belmont Community Hospital. There, she developed discharge planning procedures to assist staff in identifying patients in need of intervention. Driven by a strong compassion for helping others, Jamie is dedicated to working with clients and their families, making a meaningful impact on improving their quality of life.
STEVEN SHAPIRO

STEVEN SHAPIRO

Chief Financial Officer

Steven joined Companion Services of America as the Chief Financial Officer after a long and successful career in the financial markets. He is a Registered Certified Public Accountant and holds an Insurance Producer’s License for long-term care, life, accident, and health insurance in both Florida and Illinois. Steven is also a former board member of Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago, where he volunteered his time from 2011 to 2021 to help children and families impacted by autism. With his extensive experience in finance and his commitment to giving back to the community, Steven plays a vital role in ensuring the financial health and growth of Companion Services of America.

GAIL WEINSTEIN

GAIL WEINSTEIN, R.N.

Clinical Director

Gail joined Companion Services of America in 2015 as a registered nurse. She holds a BS degree in Psychology and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner. Gail has a broad range of nursing experience, including community health, medical/surgical nursing, oncology, and long-term care. She also has specialized geriatric training in Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Before her nursing career, Gail spent many years with The American Cancer Society in Chicago, working with volunteers in the fight against cancer. Passionate about nursing, Gail enjoys working closely with her clients, providing personalized care that makes a difference in their lives.
MARY ROSS

MARY ROSS

Manager of Operations & HR Director

Mary joined Companion Services of America in 2008 as a certified nursing assistant. With 18 years of experience in the homecare industry, she has become a key part of the team, specializing in recruiting top-notch caregivers and fostering strong employee-client relations. In her roles as Manager of Operations and HR Director, Mary is responsible for overseeing scheduling, hiring, and financial management, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the company.

MARLENE MILLER

Administrative Assistant

Marlene joined Companion Services of America in 2017 as an administrative assistant. She holds a BS in Mathematics and an MA in Mathematics Education. Marlene plays a key role in managing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Her strong interpersonal and communication skills, developed over years of teaching, complement her accounting expertise, making her a valuable asset to the team.

Evelyn joined Companion Services of America in 2013 as a certified nursing assistant and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 2018. In her current role, she provides nursing services to clients, completes supervisory visits, and supervises caregivers in the field. Evelyn is passionate about working closely with clients and is dedicated to helping those in need, making a positive impact through her compassionate care.
