Alzheimer’s and Dementia Home Care
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia. It effects memory, judgment, and behavior. In the early stages, dementia symptoms may be minimal, but as the disease progresses and the symptoms worsen professional support may be necessary. Having a support system in place is the key to improve quality of life for both the patient and their family.
Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s can be stressful, frustrating, and physically demanding. Our compassionate and experienced caregivers perform an essential role in keeping your loved one safe and happy in the familiar surroundings of their own home. They provide companionship for the client that encourages social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
Cognitive stimulation is important in engaging your loved one in purposeful activities, puzzles, and discussions which stimulate the brain to help keep the mind healthy and strong. They also encourage memory stimulated activities that support memories of earlier times in their life. Our caregivers also keep the clients physically active to extend their physical independence.
Our caregivers have learned techniques such as simple choices, cuing or redirecting that can help manage behavior. The stability of consistent and meaningful relationships with their caregivers helps to foster safety and comfort in patients with dementia.
At Companion Services of America, we are here to help by providing home care services that will allow our clients to maintain their daily routines in the privacy of their home and preserve their independence as much as possible.
Caregivers provide support, guidance, and respite care to support both the client and their family.

"Before we contacted Companion Services of America we were concerned about the safety and welbeing of our loved ones. Now we are able to live our own lives more normally and we are considerably less stressed. My mother had a wonderful companion in Tess, and Arnor. Rodel developered a solid relationship with my stepfather, which was not easy! We are thankful to have had the help and support of Companion Serivces of America for 8 years."

"We have used other agencies in the past and none compare to Companion Care. Jamie the owner is always responsive and manages to pull rabbits out of a hat to solving problems. The caregiver team has been extraordinary in being proactive and thinking ahead of my mother, which is not easy to do. The team respects her and knows the rhythm of engaging and giving her space. The team is also qualified and vigilant to watch for medical signs that could be harmful. I recommend Jamie, Mary and our caregiver team with high marks!"
